Institute of Czech Literature of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Czech Literary Bibliography and Institute of Political Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences cordially invite you to participate in the online international conference Central and Eastern European Samizdat during the Cold War. Comparative and Transnational Perspectives. The two-day conference aims to look at the issue of samizdat in Central and Eastern Europe from new perspectives and in a broader context. The contributions will focus on the research of former transnational contacts and flows in the field of samizdat, as well as on the contemporary comparison of various national samizdat phenomena.
An important topic will also be samizdat as a part of the European cultural heritage and the current and innovative possibilities of its research in the context and with the use of digital humanities tools.

At the same time, the conference will be streamed on the ICL YouTube channel, where the recordings will also be available.
The conference is organized as a part of the New Exploratory Phase in Research on East European Cultures of Dissent – COST Action (CA 16213) funded by the Horizon 2020 Framework Program of the European Union and within the national project INTER-COST LTC18040 Media of Cultural Opposition in Czechoslovakia, supported by the INTER-EXCELLENCE programme of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic.
